Work Update

Since my last post a lot of things have been happening the biggest thing is that I have got a new as a Junior App Developer for the Windows platform. for a company called XiApps.

As my skill set has mostly been Web based I have needed to learn how to be a windows app developer. For my training I have been watching video tutorials via the Microsoft Virtual Academy.

Responsive Website

For this project i wanted the website to be responsive so that if it was ever to go live it can be viewed by a wider audience on many devices and not just on a desktop computer. As the (product) that the site is advertising is an app it made sense to allow mobile devices to access the site.

The way that i made the site responsive was to add some more code to the CSS with different widths and attribute so that it would be visible on a smaller device.

Project Update

Since my last post I have been in the process of designing and developing the website for my app. At this stage of my project I have mainly been using HTML and CSS to create the index (home) page. When my site grows I will be looking to include javascript.

The Project

What am I delivering?

A navigation aid to find your way around the various decks of a cruise liner.

How I'm gong to do it?

This project will be done in two stages.

1. Website: I will use the site to promote the app.
2. The App: Its going to be a way of navigating around the decks of a Cruise Liner. 

Mobile Development

As well as my Front End Web development I have been interested in creating mobile apps. The first apps that created was back in my last year at university. Now that I have some time on my hands I have had the idea of creating a new app. I will be using java to create my app (which i have used in the past) and the software Android Studios (which is new to me) but from what I have seen it seams easy enough to use.

I will keep up posted with this project.

Admin Site

Since my last post I have been mainly working on the admin site.

What is the admin site?
The admin site is where clients who have signed up via the marketing site will be able to create and manage there online store. From this site they can create products and catalogs and assign images to the products and much more.

Like all of the sites that i have created at Sysen I have been using AngularJs. For this site we chose to use the Angular Material framework.

Update

Hey sorry I haven't been much good at keeping posts as up to date as I would have liked I have been extremely busy with work.

So what have I been doing since September?

Well as I have mentioned above I have been working full time as a FrontEnd Web Developer for a small company called Sysen. Since starting at Sysen I have helped to create a series of small interlinking sites (marketing, Admin and Store) for our client. At the moment I am currently working on our own (Sysen) version of a marketing, admin and store interlinking site.
